Fishing & Fly Fishing

Fishermen from around the world travel to fish the waters of our region, with trout, salmon, bass, pike, perch and pickerel just waiting to be caught in our many pristine lakes, streams and rivers. Many anglers head for the Androscoggin River to fish all along its length, from Errol down into Gorham. Fisherman will find brook, brown or rainbow trout, salmon, and small mouth bass. And while you are fishing, look for the moose, osprey and deer that make this area their home.

Along with fishing, the state parks in Androscoggin Valley– Jericho Mountain State Park (Berlin), Moose Brook State Park (Gorham), and South Pond Recreational Area (Stark) – offer swimming, hiking and other outdoor activities to round out your experience.
