The Androscoggin Valley offers up a lot of fun things to do. From experiencing the great outdoors by foot, pedal power, ATV, snowmobile, ski, snowshoe, or raft, to taking a guided moose tour, hunting, fishing, bird watching, photography, foliage touring, swimming, relaxing at the beach, camping, shopping at a number of great shops, amusement parks, and much much more await in the Androscoggin Valley!
ATV
Riding ATVs is one of the most exciting activities that the Androscoggin Valley has to offer. The Androscoggin Valley is the capital of the ATV community on the East Coast. Jericho Mountain State Park offers a vast trail system which links in with over 1,000 miles of interconnected trails via the Ride the Wilds trail system, the largest trail system east of the Mississippi River! We have a number of dealers and tour operators to get you out and enjoying the fabulous trails and the local community is fully geared toward making your ATV experience the best it possibly can be! Rafting
The Androscoggin Valley is home to the best rafting in New Hampshire. We have 3 rafting companies in the area to help you in making the most of your rafting experience. World class rapids, world class guides, and world class views make rafting in the Androscoggin Valley one of the most exhilarating experiences around! Skiing and snowshoeing
Skiing and snowshoeing are two activities with rich traditions in the valley. For downhill enthusiasts the awesome adventure and views of Wildcat Mountain await. Check them out at http://www.skiwildcat.com. If you prefer the slower pace of cross country skiing or snowshoeing the Nansen Ski Club (http://skinansen.com/) offers some of the best trails around. Nansen Ski Club is the oldest ski club in America and offers a trail system at Milan Hill State Park that is 2nd to none.
Snowmobiling
Just like ATVs in the summer the trail systems in the Androscoggin Valley are downright amazing. There are many miles of trails all with great views, and an entire community that comes with those trails ready to help make your experience the best it can be. There are many events for snowmobilers throughout the year including Sledfest and the Easter Seals Ride in. Moose Tours
Looking for Moose is a top activity for anyone visiting the area. The moose draw tourists from around the world to come to the valley. The Gorham Moose Tours (http://www.gorhamnh.org/Pages/GorhamNH_Moose/Index) boasts a 95% success rate and will even give you a voucher for a new moose tour if you don’t see one. We are very confident in our Moose in the Androscoggin Valley!
Amusement Parks
There are two amusement parks within driving distance of the valley. Storyland (www.storylandnh.com) and Santas Village (www.santasvillage.com) offer rides, characters, water parks, and family fun to last a lifetime. These parks are open all summer and Santas Village opens back up at Christmastime for their very special Christmas and New Year offerings.
Hiking
For those looking for a great way to get some exercise, enjoy the great outdoors, see some foliage, and take some great pictures, there are many miles of hiking trails to enjoy. The White Mountain National Forest, Jericho Mountain State Park, Milan Hill State Park, and many other areas offer quite the hiking experience.
Shopping
The Androscoggin Valley offers a wide array of shopping options. There are many unique clothing boutiques and gift shops. There are a number of antique stores to fulfil any antique shopping trip needs, and our hardware stores can get you any home improvement project, no matter how big or small. Events
There are a number of great events going on throughout the year. From Brewtopia to Riverfire, Wingzilla to the Jericho ATV Festival, Big Moose Bach Fest to Drive in the 50’s, and Gorham’s world class 4th of July celebration, there is always something going on.
