June 7 – 7th Annual Kids Free Fishing Day: Wildcat Pond, Route 16, Gorham, NH, 9:00-12:00. For kids 15 years and younger - lots of fishing, casting contest, learning stations, and prizes. Overshadowed by Mount Washington and nestled between two of New Hampshire's most scenic regions: The White Mountains and The Great North Woods, this area offers something for everyone. In the winter, experience a pristine landscape from snowshoes to cross country or downhill skis. Our rivers offer excellent canoeing and kayaking. Camping, climbing, fishing and hunting opportunities abound. We are centrally located to several famous White Mountain Attractions, and within a one hour drive of eight major ski areas and hundreds of kilometers of groomed Nordic trails. There is also a vast network of hiking and water trails. There are several miles of snowmobile tails groomed by local clubs such as White Mountain Ridge Runners www.whitemtridgerunners.com and Presidential Range Riders www.presidentialrangeriders.org and the NH Trails Bureau www.nhtrails.org. Jericho Mountain State park boasts the largest publicly owned ATV trail system in the Northeast. This extensive trail system is maintained by the NH Trails Bureau www.nhtrails.org with the assistance of the Androscoggin Valley ATV Club www.avatvclub.org.
